The CA49 is the entry point into Kawai’s premium range of digital pianos and provides many of the features of the higher end models at a lower price point. Featuring a real wooden keyboard, meticulous sampling of Kawai’s own acoustic grand pianos and a 40W speaker system, the CA49 is a pleasure to play.
In playing piano, the entirety of the player’s control over the instrument is via their fingers on the keyboard. In the CA49, Kawai have used long wooden keysticks, weighted hammers and synthetic ebony and ivory keytops, giving players excellent control over the nuances of their performances.
The sound that is produced by the piano has been given just as much attention and it starts with Kawai’s immaculate sampling of their own acoustic grand pianos and players can adjust details of the sound via the touchscreen, such as hammer hardness and string resonance. The sound is output via a four speaker system which, while not as powerful as those on higher end models, still gives a good representation of the whole range of the piano.
Performances can be recorded within the instrument itself or it can be connected via usb to a computer for expanded recording and notation functionality.
